St Ives is a lovely small town/village in the South Western part of England in the County of Cornwall.
It is an ideal place where you can enjoy the typical English seaside village lifestyle. In the town centre there are quaint cottages and the small alleys are filled with craft and gift shops.
You can spend the whole day just window shopping or browsing around in all those quaint little shops.
Or you can take short walk out of the village up the hill to the Battery Point and the coastguards’ lookout which serves to guide shipping safely into the bay. From there, you can walk up to St. Nicholas Chapel, another great viewing point.
To get to St Ives from London you can take the train from Paddington to Penzance. You can either choose to stay at Penzance or you can stop at St Erth, one stop before Penzance. From St Erth take the St Ives branch line train, a bus or a taxi. For more information check out the St Ives Visitor and Information Centre website. A ideal relaxing place for seniors travellers.
